I Want to Hold Your Hand: By Audrey Pierce
Forest
You open up to me
I follow the worn path
Right into your branches
The sun is peeking at me
Behind your green leaves and
Blooming flowers
The dirt spreads all around us
Winding between your roots and my feet
But the shoots of green are not discouraged
I reach for you
Wrap my arms around your old trunks
And begin to see your age
I feel so new around you
Speachless in such wisdom
Are you speachless in my ignorance?
I can't help but love you
Everything about you
All the differences between everything
You open up to me
I follow the worn path
Right into your branches
The sun is peeking at me
Behind your green leaves and
Blooming flowers
The dirt spreads all around us
Winding between your roots and my feet
But the shoots of green are not discouraged
I reach for you
Wrap my arms around your old trunks
And begin to see your age
I feel so new around you
Speachless in such wisdom
Are you speachless in my ignorance?
I can't help but love you
Everything about you
All the differences between everything
